Best equipment from the Greenland Expedition and project?
I often get kit questions. What is good and what is not. Which brands? Since Christmas is coming up I have picked 5 items which I will present to you during five days. Equipment which is worth the price, works on the most demanding of Expeditions and won´t let you down.
Taiga Facemask
I have spent years travelling in the Arctic. Sometimes in temperatures below -58. Even lower possibly, since the thermometer didn´t go further. But I use the Facemask as an extra headlayer too. Even if temperature are around -10 C. I have tried quite a few since I started to travel in polar cold back in 1997. It isn´t easy to find a facemask which can deal with sweat, wind, comfort, extreme cold and many layers of ice. And which dries easily when taken off. So far, I have stuck to Taiga Facemask which does the job needed! Easy to use when fingers are stuff and troublesome too!
