Nordvästcouloiren/The north west couloir

(Swedish version first followed by the English)

Allt i bästa fall.

English version:

I just came home after filming at the big store in town. He is on his way to place the last order for the year, when it comes to stocking up the shelves during winter.  The following order will be done maybe in March, depending on the development of the winter.  Last boat with goods for the year is in the beginning of December. If all goes well that is. The first items to disapper from the store is eggs, youghurt, bread meats and fruit plus vegetables. However, right now the store is brimmed with goods and if one takes into account the isolation of the area and the complications with transport, which are serious, since no roads exist, I think it is amazing the variety on display, everything from rifles to pesto. Soon goods will need to be flown in by helicopter at amazing prices if customers want it. I am impressed by this and the manager, Karl, who keeps it all together. On top of this he speaks good English!

It´s getting darker and colder by the day, which Dana, Eva and me experienced yesterday when we climbed and scrambled up a reasonably steep mountainside belonging to the most beautiful of mountains we can see through the kitchen window, Qaqqarsuaq. The girls continue to impress me, no sign of vertigo, they fight and don´t complain. After all, they´re just 5 and 7 years old. Temperature was around -10 Centigrade, just snow on the ridge and top, otherwise the ground was hard, solid of ice, so the speed going up was good. However, one on the top, the girls was hungry, they didn´t even allow me to take a photo, they had been there before, so we descended quickly to the ridge and I immediately started up the petrol stove. It had a leak so the girls got a bit of entertainment whilst they huddled in the cold. As usual we ate mash and tuna. I covered them during the meal in a wind sack and repeated that most climbing accidents happen the when you feel safe, mainly the last piece of the climb or descending. They got it, so we descended slowly and all went well during these 5 hours until we got out on the paved road at the museum and dana fell and scraped her hand!

I hope it will start snowing soon, but not until my fantastic cutter has visited us!
