I met Ole Jörgen the first time at Dmitry Shparo´s Adventure Club in Moscow July 2004. Johan and I were heading for Magadan to start our Kolyma Expedition. And Ole Jörgen and his partner, Eventyrer og destillatør Anders Bilgram were in the midst of an extraordinary Expedition, circumnavigating the globe in an open motorized boat. He was the first Greenlander I have ever met, calm and kind. Next time we met, again by pure “accident” was at Kastrup Airport in 2018. H
e was as gentle and kind as always.
Ole Jörgen is true symbol of a free and independent Greenland, a huge island run by Greenlanders. A Greenlandic hero for sure, actor and explorer. And as all heroes he ha a hero partner, Galya. Who I have been in contact with since the Kolyma Expedition, who like Ole Jörgen has an extraordinary CV of life. No wonder these two met!
Ole Jörgen and Galya belong to the most impressive human beings I have ever met. And I also know, having chosen a life exploring on all levels, they have gone through a lot. And now with Ole Jörgen struck with cancer and fighting for his life, they are so used to the fight and will get through it this time too.
