Panama City, Banana God, and a Twelve Year Old Warrior is the next chapter in my 1986 to 87 bicycle journey from Chile to Alaska. It begins on the Panama side after El Darién, with illness and a collapsing body, then moves through Costa Rica and into Nicaragua, where scarcity and ideology shape daily life. The chapter ends in Estelí at dusk, bullet holes, no electricity, and a twelve-year-old boy posing like a soldier, then warning me to hide the camera.
