Expedition Siberia 2004-5: Lunch break in -50

Lunch break in -50 degrees Celsius. It was never a joy. But needed. I can´t remember what we ate from the Thermos. I think it was fruitsoup. The only way to keep any warmth was not stopping. Once we stopped, we put on the big down jacket. What a life saver. At times the work had been so hard, we had to try to sit on the pulk, but avoiding the hard work to take the skis off. The fingers…this is another occation one had to take the down gloves off. Open the lid of the Thermos. Pour. Drink. I don´t think we ever passed 5 minutes, before being forced by cold to move on. Only twice on the coldest part of the trip, could we take a sponsor photo. Read more at https://www.mikaelstrandberg.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/Explorers_journal_winter_05_06.pdf
